A Celebrity Moment: Golden Globes Best Dressed!

I’m not sure why I still get excited about award show red carpets. They always end up disappointing and boring me…plus, two hours of Ryan Seacrest? Ugh.

The Golden Globe fashion can be summed up in three words this years: purple, black and boring.

But Chloe Sevigny (who won for her role on Big Love!) and Diane Kruger can always be counted on to be fashionable and interesting!

Chloe’s Valentino dress looked breathtaking on television. It may be a dress you need to see in movement to really understand just how truly magnificent this dress was! Unfortunately, her dress was accidentally ripped by the usher escorting her to the microphone! Don’t worry, Chloe had a beautiful dress ready for the after parties!

Diane Kruger never disappoints me. I wish I had a picture of the back to show you because the dress is made that much more spectacular when you see the back detailing. The layers of ruffles around the neckline and the waist cinched and gathered with the white pin? Red carpet perfection. I’m amazed that she has landed on so many worst dressed lists for this! She’s on trend (pinks and purples were the colors of the night), she’s clearly a fashion “It” girl (supporting the beloved, but now defunct, Christian Lacroix gown) and she just plain looks amazing!

I guess if you prefer your starlets to play it safe or sexy then you wouldn’t understand this look but I find it super frustrating that many lists are naming (Princess) Olivia Wilde (in Gucci) and Sandra Bullock (in Bottega Veneta) as the best dressed of the night.
