Somewhere in an alternate universe there is another Kara living out a sunny, pastoral princess existence in Alberta Ferretti’s S/S 2011 collection with Air’s Playground Love playing on repeat.
While her Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti fell short two weeks ago at NYFW her namesake collection completely made up for it.
Long dresses of sheer silk over floral prints, delicate flower appliques, lots of sweet lace – pieces that seemed like beautiful lingerie for girls who would never entertain a man in their boudoir!
Ferretti has always done graceful femininity but this time it was with a casual girlishness rather than elegant sophistication.
The colors of nudes, pale greens, grays, purples, and whites only added to the romantic feel of the collection.
(Doesn’t this green grecian dress just seem perfectly made for one of Mad Men’s Christina Hendrick’s red carpet appearances?)
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m off to play Rapunzel and braid chains of wildflowers to make myself a princess crown.
