The big trend at NYFW? It was all about new minimalism!
(Click the thumbnails for a better look!)
Even sunny California girl Jenni Kayne toned down her look for a collection of simple basics and clean lines.
I’m a huge fan of Kayne as a designer because she makes wearable, comfortable clothes at a fairly reasonable price point. And this collection is perfectly on trend.
3.1 Phillip Lim was also as minimal as Phillip Lim can get but it was beautiful with structured, sheer pieces and beautiful colors.
But it was Francisco Costa at Calvin Klein that brought minimalism to a whole new level with gorgeous, moving, almost liquid gowns and sweet colors of mostly whites, nudes, and blacks.
I ADORED the white looks!
It was a collection that was sexy, feminine, professional, and somehow also androgynous.
As one of the last big shows of NYFW it struck the perfect note.

  1. Great review! I really love 3.1 Philip Lim. But my favorite FW trend is all the seventies Americana looks! Wide-leg jeans, big belts, floppy hats, paisley, chiffon… ahhh. 🙂 What did you think of Anna Sui and Ralph Lauren?
