If you asked Max Azria what his inspirations for this collection may have been he probably wouldn’t say, “Balenciaga! Marios Schwab! Blumarine! Rodarte! Balmain!” But he should because their colors, shapes, prints, and style are all over the BCBG runway this season!
He may admit to copying his own designs for Herve Leger especially since the line has become a red carpet staple for young Hollywood starlets and thus lusted after by teenage girls everywhere!
Don’t get me wrong…none of this is a bad thing! In fact, the combination is a very good thing for BCBG because it is exactly what I expect of a BCBG collection: pretty, sexy party dresses that are well made but heavily influenced by higher end collections. I can’t afford Herve or Balenciaga but I can afford BCBG so this collection works for me!
