Continuing the tradition of extravagant runway shows Karl Lagerfeld staged Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2010 on barges with Shanghai as a backdrop!
With the exception of the rice paddy hats (really.) the show was classic Chanel. But I was disappointed with the lack of clear Asian influence. There are so many beautiful Chinese traditions that could have been utilized for the show (from fabric techniques to Chinese models) that were not–Shame on Karl!
(…Not really! Please don’t send the Chanel Nazi’s after me Uncle Karl!)
