Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour has been made an Officer of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire – or OBE- in the list of honors that HRH Queen Elizabeth bestows every year on her birthday. She was given the honor for her “services to British journalism and British fashion in the US.”
Anna is (as far a I know) a British citizen despite living in NYC these past twenty years as editor-in-chief of American Vogue. She grew up in London and served as editor-in-chief to British Vogue for a year before make the switch to American Vogue
After hearing of the honor just yesterday Ms. Wintour released a statement, “”I am totally thrilled at this recognition, particularly since it coincides with my 20th anniversary as editor of American Vogue.”

For my readers in the UK- does this mean she is now Lady Anna Wintour? I’d probably curtsy if I met her anyway just to be polite!

  1. She deserves it. I don’t know if all the dead animal’s she’s worn over the years would agree, but she does. If I saw Anna Wintour I would have a panic attack and run away. My friend, Paul met her in an elevator and he said he just kind of ignored her, which is probably what she would’ve wanted anyway.

Angela, she didn’t glare at him until he got out the elevator?!
