I like to use January to re-evaluate where I stand and set goals for myself but I’m not always great at following through. For example, I made a lot of resolutions last year and the only one that actually stuck? Making my bed every day! It sounds absolutely insane but making my bed every day has actually been kind of life changing. It’s nice to have a little ritual in the morning that sets the tone for the day. It’s cheesy but it’s a tiny accomplishment first thing every morning. I need that.
With all that said, my goal for this year is a little bit broader. I want to travel as much as possible. I believe that writing intentions down is the first step to making them reality so I’m putting my dream travel plans for 2017 out into the universe!
February: I’m going back down to Palm Beach with my partner-in-crime, Renata. I love Jupiter’s dog-friendly beaches and exploring parts of Worth Avenue but this time I hope I can make to the Norton Museum of Art and the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum. I’d also love to explore Bethesda by the Sea with my new camera for an afternoon.
Spring: I’m so excited for this spring because I have a three night stay at the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stallaris Casino planned! I’ve never been to the Caribbean and Aruba seems like the perfect place to start. I don’t consider myself a thrill seeker, but driving an ATV on the Andicuri Trail is at the top of my Aruba bucket list. If I’m brave enough to actually do it, then I’ll be rewarding myself with a Balinese massage at Mandara Spa at the resort. At some point in May, I’ll be heading back to Siesta Key for an annual family trip. This will be the fourth year that we’ve gone to the tiny island near Sarasota and it honestly feels like going home.
Summer: I honestly haven’t thought much further than this spring but I’d like to take a solo trip for my 32nd birthday in July (maybe Charlotte?), as well as spend more time on Nantucket.
So, I’m not as exciting as professional travel bloggers with their trips to Dubai and Southeast Asia but I do want to push myself to see some new places. We’ll have to see where this year actually takes me but in the meantime what are your dream travel plans for 2016?
