It was a fairy story at Erin Fetherston as life size dolls and nutcrackers marched down the runway. These frothy pieces are the clothes girls dream of for their dolls but I’m undecided if their big sisters and mothers would dream of them for themselves.
But one expects such whimsy from an Erin Fetherston collection the surprising bit were the impeccably tailored separates. Fetherston’s collections are usually entirely comprised of darling dresses and so the mere sight of separates seemed like a revelation.
The collection also marked the first time she used leather in the form of a lambskin skirt and a beautifully tailored pair of tweed skinny pants. While others have felt that her foray into a slightly more masculine realm was the highlight I found her use of prints (especially stripes), fabrics and color to be more inspiring.
Plus, we all know I have a weakness for masks.
