Something about my latest failed relationship has me wanting to rebel and surround myself with extra girlie decor.  You might not equate whimsical objects with rebellion but I’ve been trying (and failing) to live up to that millennial, cool girl trope for the past ten years. The idea of living in an unapologetic feminine space is suddenly deliciously subversive.

Since I’ve been slowly creating my little haven over the past month I thought I’d share some of the pieces I’ve been snapping up and lusting over during my quiet revolution.

Have you seen Allyson Johnson’s prints before? She’s a digital artist who specializes in stationary but also dabbles in home decor and fun little items. Her “Hello Beautiful” is available as a fleece blanket with DENY Designs. I’m planning on snuggling under it with hot chocolate and Love, Actually more than once this winter.

Growing up, I always had a poster of the Eiffle Tower in my room. This gold leaf print by EttaVeeStudio is a more sophisticated take that will look great on my makeshift gallery wall. I’ve had for a few years (and I’m still obsessed with it) and it’s impossibly versatile. I use it as a desk but I love how Good Girl Gone Glad styled it as an entryway piece with the gold accessories. Consider this my inspiration.

I happened across in Harvard Square the other night. I’d been wanting something small to hang above my bedside table and it’s copper frame is just so pretty! I was expecting it to be kind of expensive but the small one was only $18! I hung it as soon as I got home and I love that it adds a little glow to the room at night…especially since I also picked up their to hang above my bed. I usually hate the idea of string lights inside but I saw these somewhere else and they are actually quite elegant. I’m pondering their for my bed too…what do you think?

Slightly less grownup, but way too cute to pass up, is . I’ve had my eye on it since it debuted last year in the Emily & Meritt collection last year. I love the mint one and it’s metal ears! Finishing off my space is this (also from Pottery Barn) that I’ve had my eye on for two years. I finally bit the bullet (why are area rugs so expensive?!) and now I’m just excited for it to arrive and really warm up my bedroom!

Am I the only one who reacts to a breakup by wanting to re-decorate? What are some of your favorite decor finds? Remember to check out my Pinterest for more decorating and stylish living inspiration.
