According to magazines and blogs, leather leggings are a neutral basic that should be in every woman’s closet. But how do you wear leather leggings in the real world? I recommend testing out a “vegan” pair first (like these Free People Vegan Leather Leggings available at Crush on Charles St) to minimize your investment and then just style them as you would your jeans!
For an easy, chic look I go with a silky button down and booties (I have my brown ones on here but black works best) and a long necklace. The snakeskin print gives it a bit of edge but if you’re more comfortable in a solid color that works too! Of course, you can always dress your leather leggings up by layering accessories and adding sexy stilettos.

As usual, I’d rather be comfortable so when I pulled on my leather leggings for brunch at Hyatt Regency Hotel Boston, I paired them with my low boots- perfect for braving those snow banks! Finding the right fit is key- too tight and you’ll look like a sausage but too baggy looks sloppy. The zippers on the bottom of the legs helped me to customize the fit a little bit but the best fitting pairs help a girl look slim. Oh, and if you’re buying your first pair, may I suggest making sure they have a lining? Just trust me on this one!

I have two pairs of faux leather leggings in black and burgundy and they are awesome! I absolutely love mine and I usually pair them like you did here, with silks and delicate blouses. Love this post!
