I was lucky enough to attend designer Rafael Cennamo’s Spring 2012 presentation (his first at Lincoln Center!) last week.
If there was one trend that was apparent just from the shows I attended it had to be a return to girly with a splash of lace! Cennamo definitely kept this trend going with his mostly evening wear collection- not that I’m complaining!
I think I’m ready to embrace unadulterated pretty!

For me, the collection was at its best when Rafael kept the sillhouttes simple.
Even his simplest designs were heavily embellished with beading, lace, sequins, and feathers.
Lots of feathers!

But when the shapes were already big they seemed overwhelmed by the embellishment.

Still, for the most part the collection just took my breath away.
Seeing them up close and watching them move in person brings such a different appreciation than just seeing them in pictures- the artistry and love really comes through in each garment.

Congratulations to Rafael on his first official Mercedes Benz Fashion Week outing!
Thank you to everyone at Rafael Cennamo and at Paul Wilmot!
