“Fashion fades, style is eternal.”
The iconic Yves Saint Laurent died today in Paris at age 71.
Laurent rarely appeared in public and suffered from ill mental and physical health for much of his life. He retired from designing haute couture in 2002. His partner Pierre Berge said he died in his home after a long illness.
The world has truly lost a real artist and visionary.

  1. I’m reading “The Beautiful Fall” which is about YSLs and Karl Lagerfelds careers/lives [which I started last week] and if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it because it discusses Yves depressive and obsessive battles really well. And it’s just the most detailed thing I’ve ever read about either of them.

I will definitely definitely read it! Thank you so much!

That book is so hard to find unless you want to pay a lot of money for it! Libraries are the best way to go and since he died they’re putting copies on reserve for weeks in advance.
