Hello Bostonians!
My name is Lindsey Coco and I have been covering New York Fashion Week all week for Kara. I am a Boston native and I moved to Manhattan about a year ago. I’m thrilled to be sharing all the magic that is NYFW with you.
August Getty’s new collection debut at fashion week was like waiting to hear a new underground band live for the first time-exciting but unsure of what to expect. The 9pm showing was filled with anticipation for these new designs
Getty’s collection focused on eveningwear. The show opened with a series of black and white structured looks. The designs were edgy and asymmetrical. The collections then moved into softer ethereal looks of pastel. His designs were very wearable without looking pedestrian.
Overall the collection was very modern and catered to any woman wanting to look a little extra special for a formal night out. At the end of the show the new young designer naturally took a selfie on the runway to document his monumental feat. Though this was August Getty’s first time at New York Fashion week, I assure you it will not be his last.
