I don’t know about you but I can’t believe how quickly 2013 passed by me. I can pretty much break it down in my mind to six big “events” and a lot of emotions. Mostly, it was a good year and I learned a lot about myself. I feel like I grew a bit and came to terms with many things I had been pushing aside. If that trend can continue into next year and beyond, I think I’ll turn out alright! I have lots of plans and goals for 2014 both personally and professionally as a blogger. So many, in fact, that if I achieve half of them by December of next year, I’ll be completely content.

I’m not calling these goals or changes “resolutions” because I think that word adds so much pressure that it leads to inevitable failure. People often have an “all or nothing” mindset when it comes to resolutions as if this change will be immediate and, when it isn’t, promptly give up. Instead, I’m writing various goals out for different points throughout the year so that I can evaluate them logically and give myself room to breathe. For example, I have a personal goal set for the middle of March and a professional one for the end of of June. I know that to achieve either will take a lot of patience and dedication and, for the first time really, that’s okay with me!
